Penelope Wore Red: Artwear For Your Most Important Days
Featured in the Nook Gallery during the month of November, Penelope Wore Red, is the collaborative brainchild of Barbara Brecher, Fiber Artist, and Jan Dobrowolski, Jewelry Designer. Each innovative design is a canvas to showcase their one-of-a-kind wearable art.
Barbara Brecher is a multi-talented fiber artist and designer and the owner of Brecher Design. Over the last 20 plus years, she has worked to develop a unique process combining abstract art with felting. Through her innovative dying and painting techniques, and thoughtful, creative designs, Barbara makes it possible to quite literally wear a piece of art! Combining both silk and wool, each piece displays a lively range of vivid color and captivating texture.
Jan Dobrowolski has created intriguing jewelry designed especially for each of Barbara’s compelling works. Jan has been working as a jewelry artist/designer for more than 17 years and has created her own jewelry line under the name of “Talulah.” Her work can be found in galleries, boutiques, and museums across the country. Combining her talents with Barbara’s for Penelope Wore Red, has given Jan the opportunity to stretch her creative wings and pursue new techniques in color and design. She has created numerous pieces, both bold and complementary, to accompany Barbara’s original works.
Penelope Wore Red is presented with a delightfully charming display. Be sure to stop in during the month of November and see their fabulous array of artwear, suitable for your most important days!
