Description:
Students will learn color theory by creating art works. Using a variety of media and approaches, they will learn how to mix color and how to apply color schemes for both visual appeal and meaning. Students will apply mixing skills to paint a color wheel painting. They will use acrylic paint to create a monochromatic painting, an analogous landscape, and a Pop Art Pet Painting with a complementary color scheme. Using mixed media, they will create an artwork with a split complement scheme.
Materials: Materials provided by instructor.
Juli Schuszler, a member of the RAL Art Gallery, is a local painter and pastel artist. In 2020, she retired after a 22-year career from teaching Art and English in public schools, colleges, and universities to focus her art. Juli maintains a studio in her Gloucester home and exhibits in regional galleries. www.julischuszler.com
