OIL PAINTING: EXPLORING LIGHT AND SHADOW IN THE LANDSCAPE
Join Artist Thomas Bradshaw for this 2-day workshop where you will learn to take your landscapes to new heights!
Dates: March 12 & 13 from 10:00-4:30 pm.
Fee: Members: $230 Non-members: $265 (class limited to 8 artists)
Go in-depth exploring how light influences the landscape and how it changes what we see. Artists will work with a limited pallet and from their own photo references. Thomas will have reference materials as well. You will create alla prima, which simply means you will work from start to finish in one session.
Learn new and invigorating techniques behind the brush. Explore how to use color temperature to make a strong impact and how to avoid overworking a painting. Learn to build your colors from dark to light as you paint.
Workshop will take place in the Pike Studio at the RAL Art Center. Some basic knowledge of painting is required. A supply list will be provided after you register. Please bring a lunch/snack and a drink each day.
