The RAL Art Center delivered over $700 worth of Toys for Tots as the holiday season fast approaches. In November, the Center challenged the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula artist community to enter their monthly exhibit entitled “Anything Goes.” If RAL received 125 entries, they could take a percentage of their entry fees to buy and donate toys. And deliver they did, 126 beautiful works of art adorned the walls of the RAL exhibit room with a wide variety of unique and one-of-a-kind pieces.
“The support of not only our artists, but also members of our community, allowed us to buy these toys,” stated Doug Mock, Executive Director. “It is so gratifying to know that the RAL family will have an impact on so many children this Christmas, especially in these challenging economic times,” states Mock.
As it approaches 2023, the RAL Art Center has exciting plans to continue to find ways to give back to the community. If you or anyone you know would be interested in volunteering to help with special events or activities, please feel free to call the RAL Art Center at 804-436-9309.
